Meet the Team

Johanna Rae
Event Director/Social Media Manager

Picture
Johanna began Ages of Pages to help bring together all the people who share a love for books. Her vision was to create a family friendly atmosphere, encompassing as many genres as possible. It was also important to her that the event remain free, to enable anyone from the community to attend.

She also wanted to support reading across NZ, so every Ages of Pages event raises money (from the official table) for Duffy Books in Homes.

The first Ages of Pages in 2021 was a grand success, and Johanna was thrilled to declare it an annual affair. Look out for Ages of Pages in late April or early May every year!

Johanna loves meeting readers, old and new, as well as other authors. When she's not writing books of her own, she loves to curl up by the fire on a wintery day, with a hot cup of coffee, a comfy blanket, and a good read.

Stuart Rae
Vice Event Director/Event Support

Stuart has enjoyed watching Ages of Pages grow and evolve into what it is today, and while he's more comfortable lurking behind the scenes helping Johanna and the team, you'll probably spot him on event day in one of our purple shirts, making sure everything is running smoothly at ground level.

Being a busy father, Stuart doesn't get to read as often as he would like, but is interested in: non-fiction,  space exploration, historical war fiction, and he loves listening to podcasts.

Stuart is an introvert with a passion for astronomy and the outdoors. You'll often find him on a bush walk, mountain biking, camping with his family, or pottering in the garden.

With past experience in running her own business, Peta has taken on the Ages of Pages finances. She’s determined to make the most of every dollar, enabling Ages of Pages to be the very best it can be for authors, readers, and all things bookish.

Ashleigh
Tiktok/Event Support
I first discovered Ages of Pages in 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed attending with my daughter. And when the chance to join the street team for 2025 arose I put my hand straight up and here we are today. I am excited to help support the event on the day and create new and exciting content for Tiktok.

I am a life long reader! I have thoroughly enjoyed books all my life, watching my Nana read all the time was a huge influence as she is too a prolific reader. I am a major mood reader too but the books I enjoy the most are anything with love/romance in it (I am a hopeless romantic at heart). I have an out of control TBR that at this point will out live me.

I am a mother of 1, my daughter Aislyn, and grandmother to 1 fur baby (a cat named Shadow). My day job is a Quality Co-ordinator for LIC which I enjoy immensely.
