Cleo Browne

Genres: Contemporary romance, romantic comedy, MC romance, Mafia romance.
Cleo Browne is a neurospicy geeky girl from Blenheim, Aotearoa New Zealand. As a child, she realized very early on that she wasn’t a people person, so she would spend all her time reading and writing her own stories. These stories usually ended with the line “and then they died.”

As an adult, she has gotten slightly more people-y (not much) and better at not killing all her characters off when she writes. Cleo loves to write about women who don’t need a man to do their dirty work and the hot alpha men who have their backs.

When she’s not writing romance novels about strong, curvy women and the men who adore them, she hangs out at home with her hubby, her boys, and her ancient greyhound.

Sam Blood

Genres: Young adult.
Sam started writing the Shadows series when he was nine (he was a frustratingly precocious child). In it, a wisecracking hero and an eccentric dragon-parrot have to run for their lives from an Empress who seeks to contain their psychic bond at any cost.

The young adult fantasy series takes place between our Auckland and a fantastical one on the other side. Every human has their own counterpart there, the other half of them that they’ve been missing.

Sam published Shadows in his twenties. It has since grown to a series of six books and been read all over the world. The most fun part has been having fans constantly emailing him what their own Shadow would look like (half fox, half-owl, anyone? A giant squirrel named Solace? A bunny with soothing powers?)

Private eye. Detective. Crime and thriller writer.

I use my own experience to inject authenticity into my stories. With multiple series in different genres as well as standalones, action, adventure and humour are the common themes.

I don't do horror (it scares me), romance (that scares me more) or fantasy (dragons scare me too). Anything else is fair game. Maybe one day I'll do a Western-themed romance with a dragon-riding vampire serial killer who solves locked room mysteries on the side and podcasts about healthy eating. But probably not.

He has a huge passion for writing and tries to do as much of it as he can, while juggling two regular day jobs. And sometimes it's not always about an Alpha male, your average heroine, characters falling in love, or happily ever after's.

It was when random strangers started talking in his head, that he realised there were stories that needed to be told. And who was he to argue? After all, everyone wants that fictional book boyfriend that's so deliciously perfect in every way, right?

When he's not sitting behind his desk at a computer, he's busy constructing his latest creation with his crazy Lego obsession.

Sybil Woolmore

Genres: Poetry
The inspiration for writing poetry came from Sybil's father's story, which he wrote after her mother passed. Having left home at thirteen, she knew very little about her parents and initially was so enthralled with his story that she believed it would make a great book. But, as she started to write, she found that writing in verse flowed much easier.

Her siblings were also grateful for the writing of this first poem as they also had no idea of the early part of their father's life. From there she found everyday life and happenings around her gave her material to continue writing.

Now retired, and not having a mind cluttered with work, it never ceases to amaze her how these stories come to her and just must be written. She is often woken in the night, mulling over new poems and having to quickly write lines down before trying to get back to sleep again. The local Pastor has also tapped into this gift and she is often asked to write a poem to go with a Sunday sermon.

Genres: Poetry
Ten years ago, Suzanne Jayne Bradley showed up at a friend's thirtieth birthday party dressed as a poet. Fortunately, the theme of the party was "What you wanted to be when you grew up" and no one who knows her was surprised by Suzanne’s choice, because her love of writing and poetry is long-standing.

She has been crafting poems since primary school and at sixteen even won third place in a high school writing competition (for a little tiny poem of no consequence, but she’s still proud of it!).

Now she's forty years old and has finally seen her dream come true with the publication of her anthology of fun, spooky poems, Clocks Locks Corpses! It is the result of a series of slightly unbelievable events involving Dungeons and Dragons, pizza, and a supportive writers' group. (You had to be there to understand.)

Over the years, Suzanne has worked various jobs, from cafés to call centres and even on film shoots. Currently, she lives in Auckland, New Zealand, working in an office for a manufacturing company while continuing to nurture her love of writing.
